Listed Buildings + Restoration
Years spent on the survey, drawing and appreciation of old buildings of various types.
Experience at home and abroad
Before setting up in practice in 1999 – There were years spent in other practices on the survey, drawing and appreciation of old buildings of various types, including:
· The Mud brick houses of the Akamas peninsula in Cyprus.
· The RNLI Boat Houses of Devon.
With a fascination for vernacular buildings we continue to work across Europe in doing this and have worked most recently in Pau in the French Pyrenees renovating a delightful Grange in Pe de Heurat.
Back at the ranch + Amidst a climate crisis, finding routes to Sustainable reuse of our ancient Building stock here in Scotland is an important part of our practice work.

Ongoing projects
We have been asked to survey and are currently working on a number of Listed Buildings, to increase their Energy efficiency and extended life.
Preparation of listed Building Consent + work with accredited Conservation Trades is the norm. We work carefully with established carpentry and joinery shops like Allan Kelly’s - BK Joinery to replicate Historic components like windows doors and wooden exterior details that have suffered the ravages of Glasgow weather.
2 live projects shown:
· Baldernock ( Baldruinick or Druids Town ) Kirk – 1795 - By architect - David Hamilton.
Where we are on a rolling programme of fabric upgrades.
· Alexander Greek Thomson’s - Lorne Terrace of 1868
Where we have surveyed and overseen the window replacement.
