Tenement Attic
The Attic at Nithsdale Road – Pollokshields - Glasgow
Tucked away in urban Glasgow
Creation and subdivision of a 2 bed attic flat from the servant’s rooms and redundant loft spaces above a second floor flat in a B Listed curvaceous blonde sandstone Tenement built by Alexander Thompsons business partner James Turnbull in 1887.
Tucked away under the rafters up and over the garden suburb of Pollokshields you would hardly be aware of the busyness and noise of urban Glasgow.

A radial series of new rooms
A new porch for boots, coats, bikes and wet dogs was provided before redirection and celebration of the winding stair from the common landing.
And after the winding ascent, arrival on an inhabitable landing or hallway where access is joyfully taken to a radial series of new rooms:
A kitchen diner with snug supplemented sky light.
A living room with window seated dormers + views south over Queens Park to Bonnyton Moor with a functioning Hearth.
2 charming bedrooms with their own aspects and quite sleepy repose.
A wet room with a big tub.
A Secret Eardley esque room … where all the 19th century rafters come together in something resembling the Corryvreckan.
A place to hide away from a crazy world and the Battles of Kenmure Street.
